Fan Analysis: What It’s Worth to Really Know Your Audience
(Moderator: Rudy Blair) The metrics that measure fandom have been pretty general – sales, crowd size, merch, snatches of conversation on social media, etc. But forward thinkers have come to realize that deep-dive fan data can be monetized for the benefit of artists. Fan-engagement platforms like Chartmetric, Openstage and MySeat have connected fans on a daily basis, on tours, during shows. And the direct-to-fans approach has expanded the knowledge of what fans like, how they live, how their tastes evolve, and – most importantly – what they’re willing to spend money on.
