Steve Muggeridge is a director of the Green Gathering festival, an international award-winning festival [cap;5,000] focusing Green issues and education for sustainability. He was also a director of its ancestor the Big Green Gathering [1993 – 2009 – Director 2004 – 2009].
Steve has been involved with festivals since the early 80’s, since the days of the Stonehenge Free Festival. An interest in festival culture accompanied studying politics at the London School of Economics. Since when he has been engaged with the transition of some aspects of Free Festival counter-culture into Green movement events, including the Green Gatherings.
Such festivals seeking to demonstrate the possibilities of sustainable lifestyles beyond environmentalism, embedding Green principles in the planning and production of festival.
Living in Kent, he is also an event manager for local festivals and consultant on festival Licensing.
