James Rubin is a partner in WME’s music division. He represents a diverse roster of clients including chart-toppers Macklemore, Joey Bada$$, Grammy-nominated Travis Scott, rapper Tyler the Creator, and superstar Solange, among others. Rubin specializes in global touring in Hip Hop, R&B and Pop focusing on international markets and festivals.
Rubin began his career running music promotions company, Melting Pot Productions in his native Sydney, Australia. He joined WME in 2015 following stints at London’s The Agency Group and Best Kept Secret Agency. In 2014, he was awarded Agent of the Year at the annual UK Live Music Awards. In 2017, Rubin was highlighted in Billboard’s 40 Under 40 list of top young executives in the industry and has been featured in Billboards Hip Hop Power Players list for the last two years in addition to this year’s international power players list.
Rubin is an alumnus of Sydney University – College of the Arts and currently resides in Garden City, New York.
