It is indeed no coincidence that Brandy Ricker was born on the same day MTV launched. Her passion for music supervision started around the age of 13, when she first felt the music rather than just hearing it. Her career started in 2012 after graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a Masters in Arts, Entertainment & Media Management (a concentration in Music Business). She has spent the last two decades immersing herself in the Chicago music scene. She developed her expertise from working in an eclectic array of environments, from music venues and record labels, to booking agencies and music festivals. All unique paths which finally led to her passion of Music Supervision.
Brandy has provided her expertise in the world of advertising for over the past decade, collaborating with some of the most reputable ad agencies such as Droga5, dentsumb, BBDO, DDB and Carousel Collective. She has provided Music Supervision for world renowned brands including Meta, New York times, Hennessy, Essentia, Victoria’s Secret, Hershey’s, and Chase.
In 2022, Brandy earned an Emmy nomination for her hand in Meta’s “Skate Nation Ghana” (most outstanding commercial). Most recently, she received three Guild of Music Supervisor nominations for Best Music Supervision in Advertising (in both the original and sync categories) for her contribution on Meta, NY Times, and Hennessey.
Currently, Brandy is an independent Music Supervisor with a focus in advertising.
