The music industry was rife with untapped branding potential in 2004 when Marcie Allen started MAC Presents, a New York City-based music experiential agency. Allen’s agency effectively plays the role of music matchmaker, where she’s connected artists such as The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Khalid, Chance The Rapper, Keith Urban, and Billy Joel with brands including Citi, AT&T, Capital One, Sprite, Samsung and Southwest Airlines. Since founding MAC in 2004, total music sponsorships in that time have jumped from $550 million to $1.5 billion in 2018 – a number Marcie believes has the potential to triple over the next five years. Music sponsorships have grown faster than any other sector of the industry that existed 15 years ago.
