Announces Winners For The 2017

Canadian Radio Music Awards

Canadian Music Week (CMW) is pleased to announce the winners of the 20th Annual Canadian Radio Music Awards (CRMA), which took place on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel.

Alessia Cara came out on top with three wins, while Ruth B, Justin Bieber and The Strumbellas snatched two awards each. The late Gary Russell was inducted into the Broadcast Hall of Fame at the Canadian Radio Music Awards.

The CRMA ceremony included performances by Bleeker, James Barker Band, Jonathan Roy, Modern Space, Ruth B, and The Washboard Union.

The CRMA Nominees included artists who hit the Canadian charts for the first time and who achieved top airplay in different formats based on radio “spins,” as recorded by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS) in 2016. Votes were cast by program directors, music directors, and on-air personalities to determine the winners.
