Bernie Breen started his career in music over 30 years ago. He spent his first 10 years in fundamental roles in a number of aspects of the industry – touring, production manager, club owner, concert promoter, and booking agent.
It is in the last 20 years that Bernie has honed his versatile talents and built a solid reputation as a business savvy, artist-friendly, and knowledgeable artist manager.
Bernie’s experience in developing talent and maintaining careers is vast and unique. Today, Bernie is successfully supporting and developing some of the most talented individuals in the country. Working with a range of both established and budding artists, his current roster includes: The Tragically Hip, Matthew Good, Headstones, actor/musician Hugh Dillon, Mappe Of, and producer/ Blue Rodeo member Colin Cripps.
He has handled the careers of many other talented artists. Among them are multi-platinum selling artists Tom Cochrane, Big Wreck, Crash Vegas, as well as Not By Choice.
Bernie is a Canadian Screen Award and JUNO Award winner; he oversees all day to day aspects of The Tragically Hip’s interests in The Bathouse Recording Studios, UP branded cannabis and all Hip brands with Stoney Ridge Estate Winery.
He has been a member of CARAS since 1995, a publisher member with SOCAN and CMRRA since 1997, and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Unison Benevolent Fund.
