Gianfranco Raimondo

Booker/Festival Manager,
Ypsigrock Festival
Castelbuono, Italy
Ypsigrock Festival (9-12 August) is a rock, indie, electro and alternative music festival in Sicily. From its first edition 1997, now the festival is one of the most known and respected in Italy and has made its name internationally. Gianfranco Raimondo is co-founder and artistic director of the Festival.
A large part of the festival's appeal is the stunning location in the picturesque Sicilian mountain town of Castelbuono, complete with its medieval castle, from which derives the town's name. Now with a strong reputation for its varied lineups, the festival has, in recent years, played host to the likes of Beach House, Savages, Daughter, Crystal Castles, Battles, Metronomy, Primal Scream, Belle & Sebastian and has a general lucky hand for hosting Italian premiers, among others of Alt J, Django Django, Jon Hopkins and Hinds.
Ypsigrock was the first and only Italian festival nominated in the European Festival Awards shortlist 2017.
2018’s first names announced include The Jesus and Mary Chain, Radio Dept., Shame and Montreal’s Blue Hawaii.
