Marc Thonon

Director / CEO,
French Music Export Office France
Paris, France
As a genuine music passionate, the guideline of my career has always been a strong desire to share my enthusiasms. Primarily a music journalist, I was lucky enough to get asked to join such great artistic adventures as the Virgin and Barclay labels. Working with/for outstanding artists such as Alain Bashung, Khaled, Zebda, Les Negresses Vertes, Les Innocents, Zouk Machine and many others, was an amazing journey that finally led in 1996 to the the creation of the Atmospheriques indie label. A 20 year adventure that generated a string of unforeseen successes such as Louise Attaque, Charlie Winston, Abd Al Malik, Louis Chedid, Le Soldat Rose, Tahiti 80, Rivière Noire, Set & Match with whom I was able to combine artistic excellence and wide mass appeal with sometimes a global reach.

Always concerned with general interest, I have enjoyed serving the causes of many Non Profit Organisations such as Les Victoires de la Musique or FCM not to the mention the CNM Mission.
Diversity and eclecticism have always been a motto as shown by the wide variety of musical genres the Atmospheriques brand has been connected to as well as the variety of skills we've had to develop to accompany our acts in their publishing, touring and recording activities.

Now serving the global community of French artists to help them obtain a maximum of opportunities abroad, I couldn't be happier.
