Canadian Academy of Recording Arts And Sciences (CARAS) / The JUNO Awards
Toronto, ON, Canada
After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University she began her career with Ontario Hydro in Finance where she furthered her studies to obtain a CMA designation. Moving next to KPMG and obtaining her CMA, now CPA, she quickly moved to working in the Enterprise Practice and dealing with organizational structures and corporate tax planning. Jackie also lectured at Wilfrid Laurier University teaching second year core business classes as a side passion.

Over the past 16 years, Jackie Dean has been instrumental in building the business direction and strategies of The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences/The JUNO Awards & MusiCounts and shaping it into what it has become today. She has worked tirelessly to support the mandate of the organization within the Canadian music industry: to promote awareness and education on how the Canadian music industry is structured; the importance of music education and how it needs to be rebuilt to support the past downturn in the industry; and to focus on fair compensation for creators and the ever changing digital age to make the music industry sustainable in Canada.
