Brad Keenan leads ACTRA Performers' Rights Society (PRS) and ACTRA Recording Artists' Collecting Society (RACS) the arms of ACTRA that collect and disburse remuneration to performers and advocates on behalf of artists. With over 22 years of experience working with artists in the music, film and television industries, Brad has extensive experience managing teams, negotiating contracts, building relationships and promoting collaboration with advocacy groups nationally and internationally. Having established operational systems and management processes for ACTRA PRS, Brad oversees the fiscal and program administration and disbursement of over $20M annually to performers.
In addition to his work with ACTRA, Brad also acts as Chairman of the Board of SCAPR, the Societies' Council for the Collective Management of Performers' Rights. SCAPR is a not-for-profit organisation based in Brussels, Belgium. Operating as an international platform for the development of the practical cooperation between performers' collective management organisations (CMOs), SCAPR strives to improve the exchange of data and performers' rights payments across borders.
Prior to his work with ACTRA and SCAPR, Brad was based in Toronto and New York City as Director, Worldwide Music Licensing and Partnership Marketing for SONY Music Entertainment. Brad is currently a Director on the Board of Re:Sound Music Licensing Company, a Director on the Board of the Canadian Private Copying Collective (CPCC) as well on the Board of Directors for the Creative Arts Savings and Credit Union (CASCU).
