UK artists shine at CMW with help from PRS for Music Foundation

This year’s Canadian Music Week, which includes a special spotlight on the UK, will see showcases from a number of artists whose visit to Canada was made possible in part by the International Showcase Fund.

Run by PRS For Music Foundation in partnership with UKTI, British Underground, Arts Council England and Musicians’ Union, The International Showcase Fund offers support for UK artists to take their first steps into international territories by enabling them to perform at key showcasing festivals and conferences like Canadian Music Week, which attracts the attention of music industry from across the globe.

The artists who have received this funding to attend Canadian Music Week include:

“In response to Canadian Music Week’s spotlight on the UK’s music industry in 2016, we’ve supported more UK artists than ever before to attend this important international event,” said PRS for Music Foundation Executive Director Vanessa Reed. “I look forward to building long- term collaborations with CMW and other Canadian partners so that we can give more UK artists the chance to break into this growing market which, like the UK, is home to some of the world’s most successful songwriters.”
