Global Forum Networking Breakfast

The Power of Music: Indigenous Artists Discuss Music’s Ability to Unite, Inspire, and Heal

The music of Indigenous artists is currently being recognized by the music community and media as some of the most important creative work of recent history, and as a vital component of our national identity. In 2017, as Canada celebrates the 150th anniversary of Confederation, attention will be focused on furthering the reconciliation efforts with Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

Music has the ability to bridge cultural and social divides and has given voice to the stories of Indigenous People. The 10th annual Global Forum Networking Breakfast, sponsored by Music Canada, will examine music’s ability to heal, unite, and inspire, to further the efforts to bring all Canadians together.

This invite-only, ground-breaking Global Forum will feature some of Canada’s leading Indigenous artists who have, through music, become inspirational social activists and educators. Immediately after the stage presentations, attendees will be invited to participate in frank roundtable discussions among VIP guests who are plugged into the international music economy.
