Tosin Sorinola is a well-seasoned entertainment business and marketing executive with a demonstrated history of working in the digital streaming space for over ten years.
Having graduated with a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Industrial Mathematics from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, ‘Tosin also holds a Certificate in Professional Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. Additionally, she has acquired certifications in strategy development, social media marketing, and digital content marketing from Google and Hootsuite and is currently pursuing her MBA with a specialism in Strategy at Herriot Watt University: Edinburgh Business School in Scotland, UK.
Her passion for entertainment and marketing has been present since her formative years. She leveraged her popularity to create several promotional opportunities for budding artists on campus when she was one of the prominent On-Air Personalities on FUTA 93.1 FM. She worked with Guarantee Trust Bank as a Receiving Teller and Customer Service executive and was a project and production manager for several entertainment outfits between 2008 – 2012.
To kick start her journey in the digital music streaming sector, She joined Spinlet in 2013. Her Social Media Marketing Manager role was diverse and essential in brokering and executing partnership deals with globally acclaimed brands like Uber and Etisalat.
In 2014, ‘Tosin co-founded ‘The 400 Media Company’, a digital music aggregation, distribution and marketing company that helps artists release and promote their content in digital stores worldwide while executing marketing strategies across media channels to expand their reach and audience.
She joined the newly created Boomplay in 2015 as a Digital Marketing Manager. Being a high achiever, she quickly grew within the company to different roles, key to increasing the platform’s user base and facilitating home-based and international partnerships.
‘Tosin is currently Boomplay’s Director of Artist and Media Relations, responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of relationship-fostering and content promotion strategies across all media touchpoints and servicing relationships with all key partners.
Advancing her contributions to the development of the music industry, from 2019 to 2022, ‘Tosin worked as the supervising producer of the Netflix exclusive documentary, Afrobeats: The Backstory.
