Paul Shaver is a music industry professional with over 25+ years of experience. As President of CMRRA and SX Works, Shaver leads both organizations to ensure that music publishers and self-published songwriters have access to reliable licensing and administration data, securing accurate and fair compensation for the use of musical works across the industry. CMRRA’s and SX Works’ integrated systems leverage an extensive 48-year musical works database, along with SoundExchange’s 20-year authoritative ISRC and sound recording data, to provide administration solutions. These solutions enable organizations that own, represent, and/or engage with music to effectively manage their repertoire across the music ecosystem. Shaver’s career includes senior roles at Nielsen Entertainment Canada, Universal Music Group, EMI Music, and Virgin Records. Additionally, Shaver served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Country Music Association.
