Joe Levy serves as the Assistant General Manager of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, and holds key leadership roles as Chair for both the Academy for Venue Safety & Security and the Venue Safety & Security Committee for the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM). With a career spanning over three decades, Joe has established himself as a respected leader in the venue management industry.  His expertise extends to managing multi-million-dollar operating budgets, intricate physical plant operations, and navigating complex construction projects with a strong emphasis on safety and security measures.

Over the years, Joe has held pivotal positions such as Chief Operating Officer at Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, Executive Vice President and Deputy Director for Operations at The National September 11 Memorial & Museum, General Manager & Managing Director of Operations at Harlem’s World-Famous Apollo Theater, and Director of Operations at Kaufman Center, among others.

Joe’s extensive experience in various public assembly venues has provided him with a deep understanding of the evolving needs and challenges of safety and security management. His dedication to this critical area was recognized by the International Association of Venue Managers, honoring him with the Chair’s Citation at the 2017 annual IAVM conference.

In 2018, Joe earned his Certified Venue Executive designation from IAVM, a testament to his dedication to professional excellence in venue management. With a deep commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and security, coupled with a proven track record of success, Joe Levy remains at the forefront of driving positive change in venue management practices. His ongoing contributions are leaving a lasting impact on the industry, ensuring venues operate at their best while prioritizing the safety and security of all stakeholders.
