You may call her QueenDom. Her mom did it when she was a child, and now Toronto Soul-Pop Singer, Songwriter, Domanique Grant is claiming it in adulthood, as the title of her forthcoming EP QUEEN/DOM. Of course, the play on words, queendom, are significant in this new chapter of a music career that has already included some impressive opportunities.
Domanique Grant is an award winning Singer/ Songwriter and Entrepreneur, from Toronto. Domanique was recently added to the Women in Music Canada Honor Roll presented by Spotify, recognizing artists to watch out for in 2023.
Domanique’s fusion of feel good pop and moody R&B has been compared to Lizzo and Tones and I. Her milky tone, lyrical versatility and powerful lyrics also echo 90’s influences of TLC and Lauren Hill.
Domanique’s body positive single ‘Airbrush’ off of her double EP QUEEN/DOM, was shortlisted by The Rogers Emerging artist radio program and ‘YouTube Hits’ attaining placement on Top 40 AC Canadian radio. She was recently featured in the Times Daily, as one of the top African Canadian Women to watch, after a US/ South Africa tour. Her collaboration with Grammy Award-nominated producer Jarrel ‘The’ Young (Drake 2021, The Weeknd 2020), has led to sync Placements with Unilever brands and L’Oreal Paris. One thing is for sure, 2023 is set to be a big year for the young artist. Her Pandemic-song, “Till We See The Sun’, went viral worldwide. She was featured in an RBCxMusic commercial spot, which opened for The 68th Grammy Awards, featuring 5 of Canada’s top emerging artists to look out for.
