Dick Wingate is Principal at DEV Advisors, an entertainment and media consulting firm. With more than 40 yearsā€™ experience in the music industry he has been at the intersection of music and technology from its beginnings with in-store interactive systems, to the earliest music download services to the first mobile streaming applications.
A renowned senior record label exec before he went on to become Chief Content Officer at Liquid Audio, Wingate played an integral role in their 1999 IPO and negotiated the tech industryā€™s first digital distribution licenses from the major labels. AsĀ President, Media Development for Nellymoser, he helped develop the first mobile applications for Warner Music, MTV, ABC-TV and many others. His senior positions in the record industry included SVP Marketing, Arista Records; SVP A&R, PolyGram Records; Director, Talent, Epic Records; and Product Manager, Columbia Records where he worked closely with Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Aimee Mann, Peter Tosh and many others. He has been quoted in the NY Times, Time Magazine, USA Today, Billboard, Los Angeles Times, Wall St Journal and has been granted lifetime membership at NARAS (the Grammys).
