CMW Hires Brian Hetherman As International Programmer

CMW Hires Brian Hetherman As International Programmer

We’re excited to announce the hiring of established label owner and manager Brian Hetherman of Toronto’s Cerberus Management & Consulting to handle international programming for this year’s Canadian Music Week conference, June 3-5.

Brian — who will continue to operate his labels, Curve Music and Sonic Envy — will work alongside CMW president Neill Dixon, and the rest of the CMW team, to bring the top names and topics to the leading music industry conference, held in Toronto at the Westin Harbour Castle.

“CMW is always adapting with the times,” says Brian. “I was the international ambassador at Canadian Music Week for many years, working with them on their international marketplace and attending conferences around the world on behalf of Canadian Music Week, as well as my own entities. It a natural progression to help put together panels, both domestic and international.”

In the past year, Brian has attended Eurosonic Noorderslag in Holland, Great Escape in England, and Westway Lab in Portugal. His attendance has provided contacts and insights into the important discussions, pertaining to the changing business model and adapting to the new environment from technology to the live business.

Over his 30-plus year career Brian has developed a truly overarching perspective and deep skill set that he’s applied relentlessly to helping artists reach their goals. In that time, he has worked in virtually all facets of the music industry.

Since 2002, after stepping out on his own, and founding Curve Music and Cerberus Management and Consulting, the music industry veteran has brought that passion to bear on innumerable artist’s careers, and, in mid-2018, re-launched his former label, Sonic Envy, as a music services company to better serve the evolving needs of artists.

Sonic Envy offers multiple custom tailored services. Given the depth of experience he brings to the table, Brian is uniquely qualified to provide those services.

Brian starts his position with CMW immediately.

Now in its 42nd year, Canadian Music Week is Canada’s leading annual entertainment event dedicated to the expression and growth of the country’s music, media and entertainment industries. Combining multifaceted information-intensive conferences; a trade exposition; awards shows and the nation’s largest new music festival. All conference functions occur at The Westin Harbour Castle at 1 Harbour Square in Toronto.
