Canadian Music Week presents Fireside Chat with Spotify’s Global Head of Music Jeremy Erlich

We’re happy to announce a rare Fireside Chat with music industry visionary Jeremy Erlich, Global Head of Music at Spotify, on Wednesday, June 5 at the Westin Harbour Castle. Hosted by Randy Lennox, President of Loft Entertainment, this Fireside Chat will dive into how Spotify continues to break new ground, helping artists and fans around the world find each other with the most innovative tools and technologies. Since 2019, Jeremy Erlich has been the Global Head of Music at Spotify. He’s responsible for driving the company’s overall music strategy, which includes music editorial, partnerships, marketing, operations, and strengthening Spotify’s relationship within the artist and creative community. Under his leadership, Spotify has developed the best playlist ecosystem in music, allowing fans to discover and rediscover more music than ever. His team continually partners with artists and their teams for turnkey marketing partnerships, allowing artists to best tell their stories to their fans. The Music Team has also been at the forefront of key cultural music moments year after year including Spotify’s Best New Artist party during Grammy Week, brand activations at Coachella, SXSW, CMA Fest, countless artist campaigns, the launch of dozen of editorial programs including Frequency, Equal, Glow, and recently incorporating artists into Spotify’s multi-year partnership with FC Barcelona. He has been honoured on the Billboard Power 100 list multiple times.

Jeremy was born in Paris, France and spent his childhood between France and the United States. Jeremy graduated with a BA in Economics and International Relations from Northwestern University before moving to London for a career in investment banking. After living in Milan for 18 months, Jeremy received his MBA from London Business School.

Prior to his role at Spotify, he was the CFO and EVP of Business Development at Interscope Geffen A&M. At Interscope, he was responsible for driving the financial strategy of the company as well as deal-making. In 2018, he signed a partnership with YG Entertainment to bring K-Pop superstars Blackpink to the label. Staring in 2011, he also ran Corporate Development and Strategy for Universal Music, where he was responsible for global M&A, venture investments and strategic initiatives. Amongst other things he worked on the $1.7 billion acquisition of EMI Music, the divestment of Parlophone and the acquisition of Eagle Rock. Jeremy also ran UMG’s investment fund from 2014 to 2017.

Randy Lennox played a pivotal role in launching the careers of The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, Drake, Justin Bieber, Shania Twain and Alessia Cara as the CEO of Universal
Music Canada from 1998 to 2015. Lennox then served as the President and CEO of Bell Media from 2015 to 2021, overseeing a $3.7 billion revenue business and leading a team of 7800 people. During his tenure at Bell, Lennox created strategic partnerships with iHeart Media, HBO Max, Starz, Vice and BNN Bloomberg. He also built Crave into Canada’s premier subscriber streaming service. Lennox also led key acquisitions with Pinewood Studios and Just For Laughs. As a producer Lennox has won eight Canadian Screen Awards, two Juno Awards and an Emmy Award. At Loft, Lennox’s passion for music and television, continues his drive towards innovation and excellence in the world of entertainment.
