Canadian Music Week (CMW) is proud to announce exciting new title sponsors for the 36th Annual Festival, taking place May 7 – 13, 2018 in downtown Toronto. Amsterdam Brewing and San Rafael ’71 have signed on to present Canadian Music Week Festival, Conference and Awards.
“Canadian Music Week is an iconic event and a perfect fit for San Rafael ’71, a brand that values authenticity, quality and unpretentious good times,” noted Darren Karasiuk, VP Strategy at MedReleaf, the Canadian licensed producer of cannabis that owns the San Rafael ’71 brand. “With legalization just around the corner we want to use this opportunity to help educate adult consumers about our brand, ensure consumers have all the facts about cannabis in general and champion a responsible use message.”
“We at Amsterdam Brewing Co. are thrilled to be a part of Canadian Music Week,” said Jeff Carefoote, President and CEO of Amsterdam Brewing Co Ltd.“This exciting partnership to support Toronto’s thriving music community by working closely with the venues we have been happy to serve over the years is enhanced by the amazing opportunity to create new lasting relationships. Our consumers support live music and we are anxious to share the best of CMW with them through a featured lineup of locally brewed favourites; Boneshaker IPA, 3Speed, and the brand-new San Rafael ’71 4:20 Pale Ale.”
Neill Dixon, the President of Canadian Music Week, welcomed the San Rafael ’71 and Amsterdam Brewery joint sponsorship as complementary to the festival’s synergy and creative edge. “Both embody the same independent spirit as Indie bands, who take pride in their craft, stray from the mainstream andhighlight uniqueness.” Dixon says, “We are very excited to be associated with these great brands and their team in bringing the live music experience to devoted fans during the week-long celebration.”
Canadian Music Week takes place in more than 40 licensed venues, with 600 artists in seven days, performing for 150,000 discerning music fans annually.

About Amsterdam Brewing Co.
Amsterdam Brewing Co. is an independently owned and operated craft brewery with a vision of bringing unique beers, full of flavour to the city of Toronto for over 30 years. As a pioneer of the Canadian craft beer scene, while holding the distinction of being TORONTO’S ORIGINAL CRAFT BREWERY, our success is the result of a combination of good people, good ideas, and good beer. Since 1986, we’ve put just as much craft and care into our beer, as all the things that happen around it. We have since added the award-winning Amsterdam Brewhouse in the heart of Toronto’s waterfront and the brand new Amsterdam Barrel House in the storied community of Leaside just east of the city.
Canadian Music Week is Canada’s leading annual entertainment event dedicated to the expression and growth of the country’s music, media and entertainment industries. Combining multifaceted information-intensive conferences; a trade exposition; a film festival; a comedy festival; awards shows and the nation’s largest new music festival, CMW spans a seven-day period from May 7 – 13, 2018 at the Sheraton Centre Hotel, and in more than 40 downtown Toronto venues, attracting participants from across the globe.
