Hailing from a small town in the Philippines, HAIDEE’s passion for music started in karaoke, singing contests, & Sunday worship services. At 16, she moved across the world to reunite with her mom, who had immigrated seven years before. Now based in Edmonton, music remained the only thing familiar to her.
HAIDEE is driven by representation as a person of color & her place in the world as a woman, making her listeners feel seen while sparking important conversations. HAIDEE’s songwriting is acclaimed by blog reviewers such as Purple Pop and The Indie Source as “heartfelt and candid” combined by her “emotive vocals” creating pop music that is both moving and relatable. Her ability to arrange melodic themes, lush harmonies & vocal stunts takes after artist and vocal producer Ariana Grande and other influences such as Whitney Houston, Jessie J, Taya Smith, & Miley Cyrus shaped her into becoming a captivating live performer.
HAIDEE quickly became a household name in the Edmonton and surrounding area’s music scene, playing major venues like the Starlite Room, festivals such as JUNOFest, SkirtsAfire, All Is Bright Winter Festival, Taste Of Edmonton and Calgary’s Lilac Festival and Blue Jay Sessions. HAIDEE independently landed placements with radio stations CKUA, CJSR, & was CBC Radio One’s featured artist for the 2022 holiday special “Make The Season Kind”, The Provincial Playlist, The Key Of A, and on Telus Story Hive’s Dirt City Songbook series.
Deemed by critics as an artist who “has a bright future and is worthy of a decades-long music industry career,” HAIDEE’S debut album “This Shouldn’t Be Typical” reflects her awareness of the power music holds and it sets her apart as a promising rising pop star.
