Melissa Cameron-Passley’s entry in the music business began with her as a songwriter and performer herself, completing her Bachelor of Music at Humber College where she specialized in Jazz. From there, Melissa held several positions within the business from jingle singer, music teacher, grant writer, tour manager, office manager at an artist management company, to booking agency assistant at UTA (formerly The Agency Group). It was at UTA that Melissa had the opportunity to work closely with such notable artists as A Tribe Called Red, Arkells, Andy Shauf, and LIGHTS. Melissa’s passion for Canadian talent, connecting creatives, and helping songwriters refine their craft led her to her current position as A&R at SOCAN in 2016.
