Jackie currently holds the position of President of CONNECT Music Licensing and Chief Operating Officer at Music Canada and over the past 18 years, has been an instrumental collaborator across the music industry. Jackie has a vision, and has been dedicated to the development of the business directions and strategies of CONNECT, Music Canada, The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences/The JUNO Awards, and MusiCounts. Her work has been integral in shaping what each of these organizations are today, and she continues to work tirelessly to support their mandates within the Canadian music industry. This includes promoting awareness and sharing her knowledge on the structure of the Canadian music ecosystem; the importance of music education and the role it needs to play to support previousĀ  downturns in the industry; and focusing on fair compensation for creators in the ever-changing digital age to ensure the music industry is sustainable in Canada.Ā She also serves as Chair of the Canadian Country Music Association Board and Chair of the UNISON Finance Committee.

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University Jackie Dean began her career with Ontario Hydro in Finance where she furthered her studies to obtain a CPA designation. Having accepted a senior role with KPMG after obtaining her CPA, she quickly moved to advise in the Enterprise Practice on issues related to organizational structures and corporate tax planning.Ā  With a passion for empowering others, Jackie also shares her wealth of knowledge and expertise as a lecturer at Wilfrid Laurier University, teaching first-year core business classes.
