Couch-ella: The Lingering Role of Live-streaming in Live Music
12:15 PM - 1:00 PM, Ontario Room
(Panel Discussion)
Necessity was the mother of live-streaming over the past few years. Artists performed from various quarantined venues – including their own living rooms – for fans watching from their living rooms. Now that restrictions have been largely lifted at live venues, it’s time to take a second look at the virtual experience that provided a lifeline. Can live-streaming be a permanent add-on to the concert business? Could it boost revenues as some fans remain reluctant while others embrace the live experience? This session will examine scenarios where live-streaming remains a permanent part of the “new normal.”
