The Podcast Revolution - How to do it, How to measure it, How to market it, How to monetize it

This past fall Forbes Magazine proclaimed: “Podcasting is Going Mainstream” stating that there are now 900,000 shows as of last week currently available worldwide with 50,000 of those being added in the last 30 days. Because of a low cost of entry, in the first ten months of 2019 alone, a record 192,000 new podcasts have been launched. And now the revenue is beginning to follow. According to the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) and Price Waterhouse, ad revenue is expected to increase to $863 million in 2020 and over $1 billion by 2021. What’s the picture in Canada look like? And what are broadcasters doing to get into the digital audio world of podcasting? TPX’s Jeff Ulster and Audience Insights Jeff Vidler will provide a 15-minute presentation of fresh insights from the latest Canadian Podcast Listener Study. This will be followed by an expert panel discussing the findings in the study and provide new insight into the business of podcasting.
