Programming a ‘Smart Show’: The Future of Tech at Live Events

Technology’s role in live music doesn’t stop at the Jumbotron and holograms on stage. The latest tech is rapidly becoming standard practice in almost every aspect of concert-going. That old-school entrance wristband is increasingly an RFID, with a chip to be read by a scanner to whip through turnstiles and pay for concessions. Security will routinely be buttressed by 360-degree security cameras, anti-drone technology, facial recognition and web/social-media “geo-walls” that monitor posts. Even the process of emptying your pockets and bags at entry is becoming obsolete with “magnetometers” that can scan whole crowds. Prepare to be “future-shocked” by this panel of experts on the future of crowd management.
