Oliver Forest is a Montreal-based indie band founded in 2016. Blending influences from several genres featuring infectious melodies and smooth harmonies with synth-based undertones the band’s unique sound is an original mix of alternative indie folk and rock. Josh and Megan met at college and played casual shows as a duo performing popular covers and developing their distinctive vocal harmonies. Seamlessly adding Josh’s original songs to the repertoire inspired their innovative sound and attracted music producer William Gaboury who wanted to record with them. Oliver Forest was born with the addition of friends Tim Hammond on drums Andrew Leduc on bass – recently replaced by Kyle Comitini – plus Josh’s and Tim’s former high school teacher Jon D’Ambrosio on guitar. In 2016 band members and producer set up shop in Tim’s studio for three weeks to record eight original songs for a debut album. The release of that first album has led to performances in and around Montreal and Toronto. In September 2017 Oliver Forest released its self-titled debut album which featured the single “Shadows.” In January Oliver Forest won the Montreal portion of the Jim Beam Talent Search hosted by Canadian Music Week and will perform at Canadian Music Week in Toronto in May of 2019.
