Electro Rock
María Robot is an electro-rock band formed in 2013 in México City, their style incorporates elements of industrial rock, post-punk and electronic music. Engaged by the combination of organic, electro-acoustic and programming, their music feeds from digital sounds, textures and sensations, dark, melancholic and eclectic sounds, as a docile voice emerges through the noise of gears and machinery.
María Robot has performed at some of the most important venues in the country such as El Imperial, Bajo Circuito, Bataclán, Sala Julián Carrillo, Festival Ajusco and Festival Quimera. They have made interesting collaborations on film projects such as Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Bronson” (audiovisual dislocation along with Gaznate Collective), original score for “El Método Lanner” at the Guanajuato International Film Festival “GIFF” and a special live act at the opening ceremony for “Festival de Cine Internacional Mexiquense” (FCIM). María Robot is preparing their second studio album, to be released by November this year.
