LOLAA’s self-titled debut Spanish and English EPs were a mix of all the ideas the sisters had in their heads, a cultural collide of sounds. Nadia and Lex are of Mexican descent and have always considered this to be an integral part of their identities as people. The band takes inspiration from Latin American/80’s pop music and icons como: Daniela Romo, Gloria Estefan, Debbie Harry, and Donna Summer. The duo have been performing regularly in Toronto, making inroads in Montreal, New York, Philadelphia and Chicago, including POP Montreal and Pilsen Fest. This winter, the band toured across Italy, which continued to inspire the sisters’ goal to reach global audiences where music is welcomed in both Spanish and English. The band has shared the stage with Rey Pila, Helado Negro, Tkay Maidza, Nina Sky, and more.
