Toronto, ON
Ida Benna is an upstart Toronto four-piece band featuring an exciting throwback lineup of original folk, blues, pop and rock songs. Bound by a humble curiosity for collaboration, this quartet finds joy in crafting grooving-yet-unpredictable melodies, richly-layered vocal harmonies and deeply meaningful, emotional lyrics.

Led by the cinnamon heart and Carole King-esque vocals of Barrie singer Melissa Courvoisier, driven by the creative guitar riffs of Regina-native Kirkland Hu, held steady by the rock-solid bass lines of Eli, Manitoba’s Peter Dunwoody, and energized by the virtuoso beats of Toronto drummer Leslie Armstrong, Ida Benna is adept at navigating a wide range of moods and emotions with their songs, from sweet and sentimental to dark and introspective.

Reminiscent of and influenced by artists such Joni Mitchell, The Tragically Hip, Neil Young, The Band and The Guess Who among others, Ida Benna is as genuine and proudly Canadian as they come!

Though Ida Benna is currently readying their debut album for a summer release, they can be seen and heard at various venues throughout Toronto and the GTA. Follow their exploits at their website:
