Five computer programmers met at the University of Toronto to form Good Kid, the Toronto-based indie rock band that has generated big success with the release of their hit song “Nomu” on Spotify, Google Play and Youtube – collectively gaining 420,000 plays. Since the success of their release, the band has had some incredible fun playing with some big names including the Jacuzzi Boys, Hooded Fang and Screaming Females. Good Kid takes a lot of inspiration from the fast-paced indie rock wave of early 2000s, drawing influences from e Strokes, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and Panic! At the Disco, but not without their own unique style of catchy riffs and sing-along choruses. e band has since released a second track, “Atlas” which generated another 100,000 Spotify plays, and are now carefully planning the release of their two brand new tracks “Faster” and “Witches.” With some terri c venues under their belt, including the Rivoli, Adelaide Hall and Horseshoe Tavern, Good Kid is looking forward to another year of exciting shows and big releases.
