Melodic Rock
“With Metric’s introspection, Neutral Milk Hotel’s catchy melodies, and Mother Mother’s fearlessness, Lauren Heenan fronts a band with their kick on the pulse of a new and dynamic music scene”.

2016 was a big year for the band, playing at CMW, winning Toronto’s Best Indie Band at the prestigious Toronto Independent Music Awards – as selected by jury members; (Alan Cross, Nicole Fiorentino/The Smashing Pumpkins, Tyler Tasson/A&R at ole — among others). In the summer, the band released a 3 track EP…and playing dozens of gigs throughout Ontario.

Heenan has been part of the music scene dating back almost 10 years when she was first discovered by Al Joynes (Q107 – Toronto’s Rock FM station) in a talent contest and performed at local open mics in Whitby, Ontario with The Stellas.

Heenan’s comparisons to Emily Haines are numerous and Girl On Girl to “the riffy melodic sound of Weezer and the lyrical delivery of The Weakerthans” (www.PunksDon’tThink.com). … “this was a pleasure to listen to. It reminds me of everything I love about music” – Errant Entertainment.

Lauren Heenan (vocals/guitar) delivers each phrase with primal urgency, juxtaposed between melodic and roaring guitar riffs. Brandon Heenan (yeah – brother and sister) thunders away on bass, while Katie Rawn (harmonies/drums – also the bass player for The Zoes) completes the line-up keeping a steady, spectre-like pace. Girl On Girl is a multidimensional audioscape.

Lauren’s bands have played with; Gregory Pepper (SXSW performer), Ria Mae (Juno nominee), CTZNSHP (Montreal/CBC backstage pass), The Stanfields (Music Nova Scotia Award Winner), The Stellas (Nashville), and Sleepy Kitty (Chicago).
