Inspired by the atmospheric work of acts such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Pixies, indie rock 4-piece Basement Revolver craft both noisy and graceful shoegaze-esque tracks. Their affinity for the boundary-breaking noise rock of the ’90s and the garage rock revival that swept through NYC in the early 2000s has earned them a devoted following throughout their native Canada, as well as the US, UK and Europe. Comprising guitarist/vocalist Chrisy Hurn, bass guitarist Nimal Agalawatte and drummer Brandon Munro, Basement Revolver formed in the city of Hamilton, Ontario in 2015, and came up with their name after spending lengthy periods of time in Hurn’s basement apartment. They have released 2 EPs – a self-titled effort featuring breakout track ‘Johnny’ in 2016, the 4-track ‘Agatha’ in 2017 and released their debut full length ‘Heavy Eyes’ in August of 2018.
They have now recorded a new EP with a 4th band member – Jonathan Malstrom – joining the group on guitar, and this is set for a July 2019 release.
