Yzabo is an independent artist, singer, songwriter, and producer based in Montreal, Quebec. Her sound is dynamic and continuously evolving; her influences being deeply rooted in Pop, R&B, Jazz, Funk, and Soul.
Yzabo released her debut single “Show Me Love” in October 2021, which was co-produced by David Plowman and Nathan Burley, followed by “Lazy Bitch” with KOLA and Frame in November 2021. Prior to her solo releases, she was featured in a A-side/B-side record with Young Clancy and Daniela Andrade called “Nasty/Grim Reap.” This single was later featured in Young Clancy’s album, Something Something Mixtape. Her latest single, “Kaleidescope Lover” was released in September 2023.
Through her music and lyrics, Yzabo has found a medium to express her experiences with a fractured and ever-evolving identity. She has focused the development of her creativity in music and art to inspire reflection and self-acceptance. Her music aims to form deep and meaningful connections with her audience; building a sense of community and belonging that transcend our subjective, every-day experiences.
Supported by FACTOR’s Juried Sound Recording Program the Canada Council of the Arts, Yzabo is currently working with producers Kola, Cedric de Saint-Rome, David Plowman, and Young Clancy on her first EP titled “Bad Habit” set to be released on October 18, 2023.
