Shortly after the release of their debut EP, The Black River, The Jailbirds won “Best Rock” at the 2018 Mississauga Music Awards and most recently won “Best Live Band” at the 2022 Mississauga Music Awards. The Jailbirds have drawn comparisons to the likes of Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Deep Purple, Monster Truck & Royal Blood, molding the rock genre into something entirely their own.

The Jailbirds have been featured on FM radio, Spotify curated playlists (Hard Rock/Rock Faves/Best Rock 2020/The Eh List) & online publications like Guitar World Magazine. The Jailbirds, featuring drummer Kevin Costa and founding members Myke Penney on guitars/vocals and bassist Liam Hills.
