Nora Toutain is a Moroccan-English singer-songwriter based in Montreal. Her brand of synth-driven R&B seamlessly moves across genres like neo-soul, funk and jazz with hints of afro rhythms: a direct reference to her diverse cultural experiences and musical upbringing.
Her love for these traditional genres, diverse and contemporary sounds elevates her own music, while providing a unique context for her artistic vision of artist development.
A seasoned session singer and performer, Nora set herself apart as a distinctive performer evolving at an impressive speed, having been introduced to the music industry in 2015 through the Kalmunity collective, with whom she performed at Montreal International Jazz Festival in 2017.
A year later, she graduated from the Vocal Jazz Performance program at University of Montreal. Since then, she’s been working on the production of her first record, with Christopher Vincent from Busty and The Bass. The album was released and positively received on Octobre 2020.
She is currently working on her next record, with the support of FACTOR’s Jury Sound Recording Program – while creating a platform to mentor other artists and provide new emerging artists with experienced guidance and support.
