Full of light, love, and gentle contemplation, Alyssa’s sunny personality lights up every room before she even makes it to the stage. This indie/pop singer-songwriter from the Georgian Bay area has been captivating audiences across Ontario with her sweet, angelic vocals, heartfelt writing and sincere storytelling.
With a musical sound that flourishes from pop, folk, jazz and singer-songwriter genres, Alyssa expresses her emotions through unforgettable, original melodies. Coming from a background of working as a street performer, Alyssa deeply values the connections she makes with her audiences through her writing and performances. Her debut EP “Twenty/Twenty” (2017) is a reminiscent look at first love and finding oneself. The first track on the album, “Missing You”, got a thumbs up from Canadian songwriter Serena Ryder, when Alyssa had the opportunity to perform for her at a Mariposa Folk Music event.
In 2020, Alyssa released an introspective single, “What Will We Remember?”, which was her first release since 2017. “What Will We Remember?” reflects on some of the physical and emotional shifts we have all experienced during the global pandemic, and offers a gentle reminder of how gratitude, compassion and love can help one’s heart to bear these unprecedented times.
Alyssa currently attends Toronto’s Humber College for a Bachelor of Music with a focus on jazz and performance. She is in the midst of writing, practising, and expanding her sound for her next album scheduled for release in 2022.
