CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK ANNOUNCES NEW DATES FOR 2020 FESTIVAL AND CONFERENCE

RESCHEDULED TO SEPTEMBER 8-13, 2020

CONFERENCE SEPTEMBER 9 TO 11 AT THE SHERATON CENTRE HOTEL TORONTO

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

  • The health and safety of our speakers, exhibitors, visitors, artists and staff is our number one priority.

Due to the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19, we will be postponing the 38th edition of Canadian Music Week 2020. The festival will now take place from September 8-13, with the conference remaining at the Sheraton Hotel from September 9-11. All badges and wristbands will be honoured on the new dates, and we look forward to returning in the fall of 2020.

We take the health and safety of our community very seriously and do not wish to put anyone in unnecessary risk. CMW encourages you to support independent artists during this time of uncertainty and keep listening to music. We look forward to seeing you all in September!

  • We are also working closely with local authorities and the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, as well as our festival venues across the city to put in place the following measures.

As of today, these measures will include:

    • Increased onsite communication of World Health Organization recommendations regarding hand and respiratory hygiene via signage and onsite staff.
    • Strengthened collaboration with local partners (airport, hotels, city officials, venues) to ensure vigilance and health/safety processes.
    • Reinforced onsite medical team in the conference venue.
    • Increased standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the venue.
      • The Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel has confirmed that there will be hand sanitizer stations set up across the hotel, within the conference space, and at entrances and exits. Their staff have been provided additional training and resources on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus to ensure appropriate cleaning, disinfection, and hygiene procedures.
        •
    • Regular updates on www.cmw.net will be provided to our customers with the latest information.

We encourage everyone to follow the WHO’s recommended preventative measures, including washing your hands with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds, avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, and staying home if you feel ill.

We are monitoring the situation very closely and are following local and national travel and health guidelines.
