Riley O'Connor was named Chairman of Live Nation Canada in July of 2007 . As Chairman, O'Connor oversees all aspects of Live Nation as Canada’s leading concert promoter. Live Nation owns and operates the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto and the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. In Canada, Live Nation produces more than 1,100 concerts annually for Canadian and international artists.

Prior to the merger of Live Nation and House of Blues Concerts Canada in 2007, O'Connor served as Senior Vice President of Talent for House of Blues Concerts Canada overseeing all of the national business operations since 1998.

Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the Canadian Music Business and a formidable force in Canadian music since arriving on the scene in 1971. From early beginnings as a drum roadie, guitar tech, stagehand and truck driver, O’Connor quickly moved up the ranks of concert production in Canada and Europe.

In 1977, after five years touring Europe as Chief Electrician for ESP Lighting, O’Connor co-founded Perryscope Concert Productions in Vancouver and worked as Production Manager. In 1980, O’Connor became General Manager, Chief of Operation and Talent Buyer for Perryscope Concert Productions.

In 1987, O’Connor moved to Baseline Entertainment as Sports Marketing Manager, Special Events and introduced Canada to the first Golf Skins Game in 1988.

In 1989, O’Connor joined Concerts Productions International (CPI) in Toronto as Project Manager and Director of Talent concentrating on special events and labour relations. O’Connor subsequently became the Chief of Production Operations at CPI and later moved into the role of Director of Talent for CPI USA Companies.

Over the years, O’Connor has brought some of the brightest lights and greatest shows Canada has ever seen including international artist such as; AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen, Roger Waters, Keith Urban, Elton John, Backstreet Boys, Iron Maiden, Rod Stewart, Jonas Brothers, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel and KISS to name but a few. O’Connor continues to be a strong supporter of Canadian music and artist development. Canadian artists produced and promoted by O’Connor over the years include; RUSH, Blue Rodeo, Tom Cochrane, April Wine, Michael Bublé, Bryan Adams, Streetheart, Jann Arden, Sloan, 54*40, Nickelback, Harlequin, Hedley, Triumph, Shania Twain, The Tea Party, Big Wreck/Ian Thornley, Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman, Avril Lavigne, Our Lady Peace, Chantal Kreviazuk, The Tragically Hip, Celine Dion and many, many more.

Riley O’Connor is regarded, respected and admired by artists and managers alike for his integrity and passion for the music industry.

Riley O’Connor will be inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame during the Canadian Music & Broadcast Industry Awards gala ceremony at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Thursday March 22, 2012 as part of Canadian Music Week’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
