Rob Bolton

Director, Digital Marketing,
Warner Music Canada
Toronto, ON, Canada
Rob Bolton is a 20-year music and technology veteran who began his career in broadcast radio and in Marketing for BMG Music Canada while attending Queen’s University. Rob was later instrumental in the growth of two pioneering Canadian technology startups in streaming music: Iceberg Media, Canada's first and biggest Internet Radio company, and Virtue Broadcasting/StartCast, the leading live concert webcast and streaming media service provider (now a division of Bell Canada).

Rob then moved to London, England in 2002 where he acted as a streaming media consultant to BT (British Telecom), Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, and others. He returned to Canada in 2005 to take on the role of National Content Director at Standard Interactive, where he was responsible for the content and development of Standard Radio's 51 radio station websites. In addition, he re-launched and managed the IcebergRadio.com streaming music service, and built strategic content and licensing agreements with the Music Industry.

In 2008, Rob joined Warner Music Canada to head up the newly created Digital Marketing department, where he currently oversees digital strategy, including digital marketing, social media, artist websites, e-commerce, CRM, audience analytics, and new digital business development - in particular, video content distribution and monetization.

As writer for a variety of publications, Rob covered music, broadcast and technology issues for over 10 years. Rob holds an honours degree in Economics from Queen's University, and a M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business.
