In addition to practicing law, LaPolt lectures across the United States, Canada and Europe on music business issues, she served as the editor of Building Your Artist’s Brand as a Business, published by the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers in the U.K., and is an instructor in the Entertainment Studies Department at UCLA Extension, where she has taught "Legal and Practical Aspects of the Music Business” since 2001. LaPolt is a member of the National Association of Recording Artists and Sciences, the National Association of Record Industry Professionals, Beverly Hills and Los Angeles Bar Associations, Black Women in Entertainment Law, and serves on the board of the Alliance of Artists and Recording Companies.
