David Campbell is Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Theatres Operations for IMAX Corporation. In addition to several functions within the IMAX Theatre Operations group, he is responsible for IMAX’s corporate development activities including its investments in VR and other new business initiatives.
David joined IMAX in 1999 as Director of Business Affairs and has held several senior roles within the Company since, including Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs and Senior Vice President, Joint Venture Theatre Development. He was instrumental in the development of IMAX’s revenue share business model, negotiating and structuring the Company’s biggest revenue share agreements with many of IMAX’s largest partners including AMC Entertainment, Regal Entertainment Group and CGV. More recently, David played a key role in creating the IMAX Corporate Development function, focused on establishing new channels of growth for the Company.
Prior to joining IMAX, David was a corporate lawyer at Toronto-based law firm Stikeman Elliott. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and an LLB from the University of Western Ontario and resides in the Toronto area with his wife and two children.
