Kenny Hess

President and CEO,
Rockin’ River Music Fest
Merritt, BC, Canada
Kenny Hess has always been a self-starter and a hugely motivated individual. His career in music started at just 14 when he headed out on the road with a country band playing his own self pennedmusic for all who would listen. After unsuccessfully trying to land a recording deal in Canada Kenny started his own Label Kate & Becca records and with his old school approach to sales and marketing Kenny found several of his songs on the national charts and with sales that few Canadian companies could rival. He soon was brought to the attention of Nashville producer and song man Ralph Murphy and found himself writing for Harlan Howard songs and recording for Curb Records Nashville. Always a driven man and by the time his 40’s came around Kenny started promoting shows of some of the artists he had shared the stage with like Merle Haggard, George Jones, Dwight Yoakam, Randy Travis, Reba and many others. This venture led him to start the Rockin’ river Music Fest in Mission BC in 2008, soon the festival had out grown its home in Mission, so in 2015 Kenny moved his prize jewel to the vacated home of the once famous Merritt Mountain Music fest.

The success & growth of the Rockin’ River Music Fest has led to a co-promotion partnership with Live Nation beginning in 2018. With their unquestionable music industry clout and buying power, Hess and the Rockin’ river Music Fest have cemented it’s foundation for long term success.

With a philosophy of producing a cutting edge Music Festival with headliners, diversity and discovery and at a time where Festivals are struggling and exiting, the Rockin’ river Music Fest is establishing itself as an event that music fans will be celebrating well into their future!

RRMF is entering it’s 4th year and is considered one of the premier music festivals in Canada!

Rockin’ river Music Fest was a nominee for Festival of the Year at the 2017 CCMA awards!
