Chris Mazur

Music & Radio Producer,
Ogilvy & Mather, NY
Chris Mazur fell in love at a young age. He fell in love with playing the tuba. No, you might not look at him and think "Tubist," but the love fostered quite the drive to succeed in the business of music. Attending University of Miami's Frost school of music, he received a double major in Tuba Performance and Music Business, focusing his thesis on a music publishing company based around tuba arrangements.

Chris's first stop in the industry was selling the Non-Stop music catalogue for sync placements in NYC. His second stop was an unexpected journey back to high school, where he was tapped to rebuild Choate Rosemary Hall's recording studio and music production curriculum. The new facility boasts a two story recital as it's live room, and a curriculum rooted in learning signal flow and general music engineering basics. Part of the student's class requirements involve recording fellow students audition tapes for college. And so the cycle continues.

The next stop in the journey brought Chris back to New York, particularly into Brooklyn, working with the founders of Rad Studios to build a music publishing collective. From the studio was born Melody Robot. They focused on the hip side of Brooklyn bands struggling to find their way into multiple streams of income in the music industry. Bands include Snowmine, Twin Shadow, and Hooray for Earth. While building Melody Robot from the ground up, Chris was tapped by a good friend at Ogilvy & Mather looking for a change.

For the last 4 years, Chris has been both music producer and radio producer for one of the largest advertising agencies in the world. Client include American Express, British Airways, Coca-Cola, IBM, Kimberly Clark, NASCAR, Philips, UPS, Vodafone, and many more. His custom music work with British Airways has won countless awards, while the IBM/US Open project with James Murphy is continuing to gain recognition and awards throughout the music, tech, and sports worlds. In addition, he was recently featured in 101 Great Minds on Music and Brands by Uli Reese. In his free time, Chris is a professional ultimate frisbee player for Major League Ultimate in NY.
