Bryce Merrill is an expert on public sector support of music and helps public and private entities build sustainable and equitable music ecosystems. He has a doctorate in sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder and is a Research Fellow at the Texas State Center for Social Inquiry and an affiliate faculty at the Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Arts Advocacy and the Public Institute at Colorado State University. Merrill is a co-author of the textbooks Understanding Society through Popular Music (Routledge) and Interactionists Take on Popular Music (Emerald), a musician in the Denver band Somerset Catalog, and co-owner of Misra Records.
