Kate Taylor is a journalist, critic and novelist who covers the arts for the Globe and Mail. She currently writes a twice-weekly column at globeandmail.com about cultural issues including policy, copyright and technology. In 2009-10, she was awarded the Atkinson Fellowship to study Canadian cultural sovereignty in the digital age, publishing the results in the Toronto Star.

Her 2003 novel, Mme Proust and the Kosher Kitchen, won a Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for best first book (Canada/Caribbean region) and the Toronto Book Award. Her second novel, A Man in Uniform, was published in 2010 and she’s currently writing a third.
