David Cooper has had a long and diverse career providing computer software for the live entertainment industry. Throughout the 1980's and early 1990's, David traveled the world working as a tour accountant and business consultant for The Who, U2, Pearl Jam, David Bowie, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Whitney Houston, Prince, Michael Jackson, Neil Young, Van Halen and dozens more. During this time, David and his team copyrighted seventeen applications, including systems for artist managers, artist touring, promoters, agents, venues, record companies, publishers, radio airplay, merchandising, fan clubs, advertising and promotions, direct marketing, ticketing and recording studios. Starting mid 1990’s while focused on ticketing David architected two systems that set ticket sales records: 1. Fastest sellout was for Pearl Jam in 1996 (and included the first commercial use of bar code on tickets), 2. Biggest sell out in 2001 was for the Daytona 500 (NASCAR & ISC). David has provided his expertise to companies such as Ticketmaster, Redbox and NASCAR. His current project is a new form of media distribution called DIRECTtoFAN, it is free to the fan and the artist gets paid.
