David Rockwood

As Vice President of Community, David Rockwood is responsible for GSD&M’s national and local pro-bono efforts and charitable contributions. He also serves as the primary music supervisor for client needs and agency events. In this role, he works with a team to scout and curate talent as well as overseeing licensing needs for clients like Zales, Southwest Airlines, Hampton Inn and PGA TOUR, among others. Recently, he managed the licensing of the Apache Relay track “Lost Kid” for a PGA TOUR spot.

Before joining GSD&M in 1998, Rockwood held marketing and music management positions at such notable Austin institutions as Direct Events and the University of Texas Frank Erwin Center.

He graduated from Texas Tech University with degrees in telecommunications and Spanish. A native of San Antonio, Rockwood grew up with seven brothers and a sister. He is an avid outdoorsman and achieved the level of Eagle Scout, the highest award in scouting. He and his wife, Christy, have three children.
