Frank Carrico is the Principal Commercial Officer at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto, supervising U.S. trade and investment programs in Ontario. Frank’s previous assignments were Regional Senior Commerce Officer at Nordic Embassies in Stockholm and Copenhagen and partner posts in the Baltics and Iceland, Senior Commerce Officer in Iraq, responsible for offices in Baghdad, Erbil, and Amman, Jordan, as Principal Officer in São Paulo, Brazil, responsible for neighboring offices in Porto Alegre and partner post in Paraguay, Senior Commerce Officer in Kyiv, Ukraine, responsible for regional programs in the neighboring newly independent states, Trade Center Director and Commerce Officer in Tokyo, and at the new Commerce office in Berlin, Germany immediately after re-unification.

Prior to public service, Frank was Marketing Director for Lansmont and Cyberware Laboratories, California manufacturers of test systems and scientific software for medical research and industrial design. His company won an Academy award for its work in technical post-production. Before California, Frank worked as a transport manager and as financial analyst with Tesoro Petroleum in Texas, after military service in Germany as a Russian translator. Frank speaks very good Portuguese, German, and Russian, some Spanish, French, and Japanese. Frank and his wife have three grown sons and an amazing daughter-in-law.
